Welcome to the American Literature Association-Graduate Student Organization. From our beginning as an exploratory idea at the Boston conference in 2025, the ALA-GSO seeks to serves participating students and recent graduates interested in the ALA, as well as member societies.
Through the enthusiasm of the 2026 Chicago graduate attendees and the support of the ALA, author societies, and veteran faculty, the ALA-GSO is now a functioning organization. Although we are still very young, we will work hard to create regular events throughout the year designed to support graduate students. These events include:
- Professional development
- Curated resources
- Social engagement
- Scholarly workshops
Membership is free. We only ask that members keep an unpdated CV on file. We hope these CVs will help foster connection and collaboration within our group. You can join us here.
